We have just come to the end of an amazing week with Dr Cindy Hart from Texas, she has been here facting as our wonderful in house Chiropractor for the horses. They loved it! She worked on all the horses, young and old and all were deemed happy and relaxed and in wonderful shape!! Happy happy!
It is so important that the horses are comfortable, they gets aches and pains just like us and they can not be ignored, then it shows in their daily work. All of our horses step out willing to work and with strong healthy backs.
Other exciting news, we had a marriage proposal on the tour! It was SO romantic, we sneaked ahead of the tour and set up Champagne and flowers. We were so nervous, what if she said NO! That would have been embarassing, but luckily she said YES! Look at the bottom for some photos. Congratulations Bobby and Christina.
Out on the trails, the monkeys have been out and about this week and for todays tourists they were waiting at the waterfall! It seems like they come around on a weekly rotation at the moment. They forage for food through the primary and secondary forests. We never feed the animals, so it is great to be able to observe them in their nature state. Pura Vida indeed.
I have been getting the horses ready for the Parelli clinics that are coming up and tuning them up for our day tour riders. If you are interested in our training, check out http://www.puravidahorsemanship.com/ for our horse training blog.
Chris has been immersed in the jungle in the last few weeks, during the rainy season the plants go crazy and take over the trails. He has been cleaning up fallen trees and getting the trails cleared ready for the busy Christmas weeks.
It is a great time right now for bird watching on the tour, there have been some new sightings and we were lucky enough this week to watch the Montazuma Orpendolas, they are quite rare. Also there have been many many Humming birds which are my personal favorite. You often hear their wings before you see them, they are spectacular.
Well where ever you are in the world, we hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. Is it really going to be 2013!!! I swear the years are flying by. If you are visiting Costa Rica, be sure to come and take a ride with us. Pura Vida
Andrea and Chris.
