We have been so lucky with the weather and it has been mostly sunny, although it is getting really cold now. Being away from the farm and all our wonderful animals is really hard, but sometimes it is nice to have a break and come back refreshed and full of new ideas.
Luckily for us Monty Roberts (the horse whisperer) is on tour here in the UK with Kelly Marks of the wonderful Intelligent Horsemanship. We went to the Oakhampton demo and loved it. I have seen Monty many times before and I am always moved by his understanding and insights into the minds of horses. Chris had never been and loved it. They worked with several horses included a horse that had never been ridden, he had a great calm introduction into humans on this back. They also had a very traumatised horse that was scared stiff of plastic. They helped him overcome his fear, but it will be a long road for him.
When you live in Cornwall you never seem to get the chance to go and check out the things that the tourists do. So on a rare spare day on this trip we hopped on the West Cornwall coast road and went and checked out all the old standing stones. it was wonderful. Men an Tol is over 3000 years old and is thought to be a powerful healing sight. We both climbed through the hole just in case!
Well we only have 5 days left now and whilst it is always hard to leave friends and family, we are looking forward to getting back to the farm and taking on the season ahead. We are going to be introducing our hiking tours when we get back. We are excited about taking people on a wonderful ramble through the rainforests and showing them the part of paradise that we are lucky enough to reside in.
The photos today are of Monty and me, very exciting for me!
