Last weekend saw David Lichman visiting us here in Costa Rica. David is a 5 star Parelli instructor and a god in our world!! We spent a weekend with him and lots of like minded inspiring horse people who know there is another way to training horses, other than drill drill drill. All of us left with great ideas, plans for our partnerships with our horses and full of thanks.
Several of the horse people from the States rode 5 days across Costa Rica to end at the clinic, what an adventure. We had two of Canada's leading endurance riders too, they each had over 4000 miles with there horses! WOW, thats a lot of time in the saddle. We made so great new friends.
Chris was very happy too as there were a couple of barefoot trimmers, so they were able to hang out and exchange notes and ideas. All very inspiring. So many horses here can be helped with barefoot (life without metal nailed on their hooves!). All of our horses are barefoot and loving it.
It is funny how everything happens for a reason, Chris has now been contacted by a trimmer from the USA (thanks to Dustin and Brandie from the Parelli clinic) who is visiting Costa Rica next month and wants to meet with him. Chris has definitely been put on the barefoot trimming path for a reason as people and horses just keep coming up for him. So cool. Funny, when you are at school they ask you "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Chris didn't know until about 4 years ago, now he just has to do the growing up bit !!hahahaha.....like thats going to happen :)
All of our horses are doing wonderful and we welcomed a new horse Mr Socks this week who is down with Julia at the beach. He is beautiful and a big lad, so i think many people will really enjoy him.
The sunsets on the beach have been amazing, as have the monkey sightings at the Jungle tour. It seems like the babies are really interested in us now and are seeking us out. Mind you big Mumma threw a big stick at me a few days back, glad her aim was off.
Today i have put up photos from the Parelli Clinic. Don't forget to friend us on Facebook too, look for Discovery Horse Tours. There are lots of client photos up there.
