Phew so thats the week gone again, time goes by so fast. We have had some wonderful people this week. After the rain the forest is looking so vibrant, we are so lucky to work in the rain forest every day.

The rains are on their way and we have had some good ones the last few nights. Chris being the amazingly resourceful man that he is built a rain shelter in the field yesterday as some of the horses don't have access to the main barn so now everyone can get out of the rain, and i can once more sleep at night if i hear rain on the roof!

No tours today, Chris is off to Esterillos to trim horses for Julia and i am catching up on paper work! Yuck. Still it can't all be fun in the rain forest with mud baths and horse riding!

The photo today is of Archie waiting for the other horses to arrive at the waterfall and the beautiful backdrop of my office! Also check out this parelli video, what a great trainer this girl is even though she is only 16! http://www.youtube.com/parellitube

I am a very happy girl today! We got voted number one attraction in Jaco today. I am so proud of our team as they have worked so hard to achieve such a lofty status. Lets not forget our wonderful team of horses too, without them we would be nothing.

Had a great training session on Archie yesterday, he is coming along nicely. Chris reworked some of the trails yesterday that were getting a bit slippy so we are back on solid footing, thanks for that goes to my wonderful husband and his bush wacking skills, the new trail is sooo pretty.

Well we have lots of rain today and all the jobs are done on the farm so we are going to curl up with a nice cup of tea and a book for a few house! Lovely!

The photo today is of the Cortez Amarilla trees that are in flower right now on the farm. So

Now that life is beginning to go back to normal after the crazy Easter weeks, we can now start to catch up on all the jobs that got held off.

Finally Chris got the sign on the end of the road so people can find us, and it looks great! Good job Chris, it looks great.

We have had great groups this week and the farm is looking so lush and green after the rain that we got this week, also we have seen lots of new birds this week after the weather went cooler!

I have a long list of horse training jobs that i need to do to keep the horses 100% responsive. As they often carry riders who give mixed messages to the horses, we have to work on them to tweak their training making everyone happier. That is my goal this week!

We are so excited to see that we are now the number 2 voted best tour in Jaco! We so want to be number 1 ! What is wonderful is that we know all the reviews are genuine. Very happy. So if you have been on the tour and loved it, get on trip advisor and leave us a review!

Well finally the road sign in now place at long last, poor Chris has been trying for weeks to find the time. He handmade the sign and it looks wonderful.

We are off today to buy more horse food (story of our lives) and catch up on much needed paper work! It is a nice over cast day today so hopefully not too hot!

Day off 04/06/2010

As i write this i am enjoying my first day off in about 3 months. It is nice to be able to stay in bed and read and update my blog! Mind you it is only 10.30 and anything can happen yet . I never write off going to the farm, when you have animals you have to be prepared for anything.

Well this week has been great, really busy with great people every day.  Matilda the dog continues to make great leaps in her recovery, but now i don't think i can part with her!! Ruby the rescue is waiting still to go to her new home, which hopefully will happen this week.

We are starting to really plan our horsemanship vacations now and are hoping to sign up Alexandra Gonzales to do a clinic on the last day. So if you know anyone who wants to really learn to connect with horses and learn the natural Parelli way of being with them tell them to get in contact!

Hope you all had a gre

Semana Santa 04/03/2010

Sorry we haven't been on for a few days, we have just survived Semana Santa! Easter week to all not here in a Spanish speaking country! Crazy busy and met some wonderful people, but ready for a slower week and time to play with the horses.

Life is good  on the farm, we had a lucky day yesterday, Chris was putting the grass out for the horses whilst me and Julia were on the tour, when the quad bike took off down the mountain by itself! Luckily there were no horses in the field, and it missed two trees and a fence post and came to rest at the bottom of the hill in once piece! Very lucky.

Matilda the rescue dog we took in three weeks ago is making a great recovery. She is now ready to go to a new home and we hope to find one soon. I want to keep her, but i always do!
